What is The Gallery Pass?

Glad you asked. The Gallery Pass is, in short, a hot girl’s guide to Kentucky policy and politics.

TGP is designed to tell you what you need to know, when it makes the most sense for you to know it. It is my goal to take all of the noise, legalese, vitriol, (mostly) boring committee meetings and legislative proceedings, and distill it into something you not only understand, but something you can feel confident in your understanding of.

Expect the news, but make it conversational, accessible, lowkey (OK, maybe highkey) sardonic, and — dare I say — at least moderately fun.

I always love to hear from readers about what they’d like to see covered — drop me a line in this survey. (Don’t worry, it’s anonymous.)

The Gallery Pass is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

What can you expect from The Gallery Pass?

Like I said, TGP is meant to meet you and the moment when it makes the most sense, so my posting schedule is pretty fluid.

During Kentucky’s legislative session, you can typically expect at least two posts a week from me — a bit more if you’re a paid subscriber.

During the offseason, I try to stay out of your inbox, but you can still expect to hear from me at least once a week. (Again, paid subscribers get more frequent reporting + commentary + analysis.)

What is a “hot girl?”

Don’t worry: You don’t need to identify as a girl, or as hot, and definitely not both at once in order to subscribe to The Gallery Pass.

I dubbed TGP “a hot girl’s guide to Kentucky policy and politics” because Substack required me to come up with a subtitle for this newsletter when I created it, and that was the first and only thing that felt right.

For me, being a “hot girl” has little to do with physical beauty standards. It is a certain level of confidence, and in this case, it is a confidence in knowing what you’re talking about and carrying yourself accordingly.

“Hot girl” is an energy, a vibe — not a reflection of one’s looks. And, for me, it is a gender-neutral term. All are welcome on this joint quest of hot girl energy.

Who am I?
